Meet Jessica

Jessica is a passionate speech language pathologist (SLP) who received her bachelors and masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Illinois State University in 2011. She has a background in working within a variety of needs including Early Intervention birth to 3-years-old as well as working with adults as a voice therapist. She has spent the majority of her career with children in the the school setting, and she specializes in the evaluation and treatment of speech and language disorders in preschool and school-aged children. With speech and language being the foundation for literacy (aka: reading, writing, speaking, and listening), Jessica’s expertise provides a service which is extremely valuable in the development and success of early learners.

Central to Jessica’s approach at Elation Speech Therapy is the belief that children learn best when they are engaged, having fun, and feeling a strong connection with their therapist. Research supports that these elements are crucial for effective learning, and Jessica integrates them into every aspect of her therapy. Her playful and kind demeanor naturally draws children in, creating a supportive and enjoyable environment where they feel valued and motivated.

Jessica’s therapeutic philosophy is grounded in the idea that the joy of expanding communication skills should be as fulfilling to her clients as it is for her. She often shares, “The feeling I get from expanding children’s communication skills is the same feeling I strive to encourage from my clients—elation.” This philosophy drives her commitment to providing therapy that is both impactful and uplifting, helping children make meaningful progress while fostering their self-esteem.

Jessica’s mission is to deliver high-quality, personalized therapy that not only addresses each child’s unique needs but also makes the process a joyful and enriching experience. Her natural-born curiosity, thirst for learning and appreciation for neuroplasticity drives her asperation of being a life-long learning and is why she is so active in pursuing professional development and staying current within the research.

At Elation Speech Therapy, Jessica is devoted to making a positive difference in the lives of children and their families.

In addition to being a SLP, Jessica, who is also known as “Jecca”, is the percussionist in Fancy Bits, an all-female based, alternative-pop band. She enjoys being outside and attending local, community events with her husband and 3-year-old daughter, Mia Jubilee.
